Oil sword of Damocles over the Red Sea
Published in French magazine OrientXXI, yet another dramatic reminder of the still pending situation of Safer tanker off the Yemeni harbor of al-Hodeida, in the Southern Red Sea. A salvage operation was supposed to start weeks ago to avoid a major disaster that would affect the Red Sea way beyond the Yemeni coasts. But the UN says it has not received the necessary security guarantees.
