Mission accomplished in the Gulf of Aqaba

Gulf of Aqaba mission 2022 accomplished for the Transnational Red Sea Center and its partners from the Marine Science Station (MSS) in Aqaba, the The Interuniversity Institute (IUI) for Marine Sciences in Eilat, and the Red Sea University in Port Sudan.

Over the past 20 days along the Israeli and Jordanian shoreline, and with the technical support of the MSS and IUI, samplings of corals, sediments and water, as well as benthic communities assessment have been conducted successfully as part of the different programs on seascape genomics, eDNA, the impact of plastic and trace-metal pollution, and 3D-mapping of shallow coral reefs.
